In 1987 Pookie Jay began his exploration of music as a DJ by playing music for different house parties and other social functions locally. In 1990 Pookie Jay graduated from Senaca High School in Louisville, KY and signed with a local group called OvaDose, which provided his first taste of engineering experience in a big studio environment. During this time Jay also earned a Degree in Electronic Engineering.  Over time Pookie Jay developed into a savvy producer and skilled engineer and is now a seasoned veteran.
 
Before coming to Out The Box Media, Pookie Jay was the owner and chief engineer of One Drop Studios from 2004 – 2013 and is one of the regions best and most experienced engineers.  His past Dj and Production background gives him a unique outlook on recording and mixing which gives him a cohesive synergy with his artists.
